This is just a few of our most recent testimonials about our students experience attending golf school. Golf school is a very different experience for most of the golfers who attend our school on the Gold Coast. The majority of our students have had golf lessons and discovered that the golf school experience is much better because of the amount of quality time you can spend with a highly experienced and qualified professional golf instructor.

I decided that my father and I needed our golf overhaul and with a lot of research I settled on Lawrie Montague's golf school on the Gold Coast and boy am I glad I did. The facilities and course are great and the staff is friendly and welcoming. 

We did the two day school and loved it and I reckon the 5 day school would be even better. I've had dozens of lessons and in my opinion they're a waste of money. Over 2 days you can really nut out what you want to achieve, and we did. We basically sat down with our golf instructor and told him what we wanted to achieve and by the end of day two we'd achieved what we wanted, (something I've never done in an hour lesson). 

What I liked about Gold Coast Golf School's teaching approach is that they work with what you've got; they aren't set in their ways of teaching a single swing model like stack and tilt or a single plane swing like a lot of teachers are.( They definitely could if that's what they wanted to)

An example is my father who's 63 and a good golfer and has had the same swing for 40 or more years and his flexibility isn't the best. In my opinion it would be crazy to try and teach him something he physically couldn't do and would lead to injuries. We played 9 holes with our golf instuctor on day one, he looked at what we had, then we worked on improving it.

 Me personally, after dozens of lessons, I have finally learnt, thanks to Gold Coast Golf School how to deliver the club into the proper impact position, which to me is the most important thing in a golf swing.

All the players swings on the PGA tour are different, some even look dreadful, what isn't different is there impact position, that's why they're pro's because they get into this position consistently.

 Basically if you want to improve your game, and get  the best tuition available in a great environment you need to get to this golf school.

Dear Lawrie,

I just wanted to send you a big thank you for the great week I had at your golf school in December.  Working on the various aspects of my game has really given me a fresh perspective on golf.  One of the most important things we worked on was my golf swing and I have gone from trying to smash that little ball on every swing, to concentrating on my golf grip, my swing plane, and the tempo of my swing.  My swing went from a very wide stance, strong grip pressure and a lot of movement in my body, to a very compact swing which has allowed me to stay on the correct plane line.

I was lucky enough to work one-on-one with your instructor over the 5 days and some of the small tips have become so valuable whenever I am at the driving range or out on the course.  Over the 5 days we were able to work on not only my swing, but my long/short game and my putting.  One of the greatest things I have taken away from my week is I now know what shot to take and which club to use when I am within 50 yards of the green.  I use this on every hole and I am consistently hitting the ball closer to the hole than before.

My score before attending your school would range anywhere in the 90s, however on the weekend I hit an 86 with 33 putts and am looking forward to continually breaking 90. 

I can now see that my goal of breaking 80 will become a reality if I continue to implement the basics you taught me in December.  I would highly recommend anyone who is passionate about golf and seriously wants to improve to spend a week at Lawrie's golf school.  You won’t regret it.

Its 3 months since I did the 3 day school with you. Yesterday I won the members comp and I have you to thank for it. Change is never easy and it's harder to unlearn than learn, so I am grateful for you enthusiastic instruction, creative feedback and reassuring guidance.

So many of your simple, yet memorable 'hints' have stayed with me and are of enormous value on the practice green. This has, in turn, enabled me to implement them process on the course.

Energy inside the house

And ... the short game A/K/H/S etc stay with me all the time.

I have found the videos, along with your analysis and comments, of my swing sessions invaluable and go over them to reinforce the mental changes as well as the rhythm and tempo of my swing.

Hi Lawrie

Thanks for sending the video analysis and the videos on the bunker shots.  I have arrived home now and have downloaded them and am looking forwarded to using them to continue to improve my golf.

I enjoyed using my new swing in the games I played around Brisbane over the last couple of days.  I played some really good shots, there were some lapses but as I haven’t had the chance to further practice the swing away from the golf course I accept them, let them go and think about the next good shot and what I need to do. 

I am also really looking forward to just getting some time to practice the drills we were working on during the school.  I think it has given me a really sound foundation on which to build further improvements in my swing.
